The two main compliance-training topics I would further offer my employees would be the OSHA Blood Borne Pathogen and HIPAA Privacy Rule training regiments (1,2). While I would have to comply with both the OSHA regulations and HIPAA Law, I would emphasis these two specialty topics because they are the areas that have the most violations. The first topic is the OSHA blood borne pathogens training topic, which includes the use of protective equipment and procedures for decontamination (2). By complying with this topic of the law, the safety of our patients and staff is improved, while maintaining some room for private innovation. The second topic is the HIPAA Privacy Law, which requires providers to protect their patientsâ€™ privacy, unless the information is used for the healthcare (1). The facilities manager must ensure that each employee takes these trainings. In a healthcare facility, one of the biggest and most common topics for training is the HIPAA training. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1966 protects patient information and promotes confidentiality. Each employee working at any healthcare facility needs to be undergo HIPAA compliancy training. All organizations are required to provide annual HIPAA trainings and because it is a law, failure to comply, will result in fines. This law was put into place to promote confidentially and privacy for the patients and their medical records. Another form of compliance training is the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). It is an establishment that works to promote healthy working conditions for patients and employees. The compliance training would provide information regarding workers compensation, and benefits that will be given when an employee is off work due to work related accidents.
